Cancer/ Oncology Massage: I am now certified in working with those with cancer. There are different stages of cancer wherein massage can help relax & decrease pain. The American Cancer Society states "Some studies have shown that massage for cancer patients suggest that it can decrease stress, anxiety, depression, pain & fatigue for many patients."   Dr Holland from the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Treatment Center states that caregivers can often benefit from non-tradition therapies such as massage, acupuncture, yoga & aromatherapy. Massage is regularly used at the center along with conventional treatment. I had a friend who had breast cancer for about 14 years, Anna Pasquarella. Anna when home to be with the LORD March 18, 2008. She told me that the only time she wasn't in pain was when I was massaging her. Not only was it wonderful for her, but it was very rewarding for me to help her feel better. Anna was a wonderful person who was loving & giving.  I became her friend through massage therapy. She fought the good fight.

I offer Lymphatic Drainage Massage for those who have recovered from cancer but have issues from radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, edema and depression. LDM is very light, rhythmatic, sequential but very powerful. It helps a sluggish lymphatic system to filter and purify the lymph. It's also great for sinuses, acne, cellulite and your immune system.  It is the most scientifically researched massage in the world. It is widely used in Europe but not so much in the US. (More info to come).

Elderly Massage: Even though elderly people can only have swedish or relaxation massage, massage is important for them. Most elderly have lost their spouse & touch alone is great for their emotional state. Massage increases their circulation & speeds up lymphatic drainage. Lymphatic drainage is important to help rid the body of toxins. I have a client that is soon to be 93 years old. She gets a weekly massage (house-call). She has some dementia & always gives her care-givers a hard time about getting on the massage table, but 5 minutes into the massage, she says, "oh, Honey, that feels so good. You're so good for me." She calls herself a 'limp noodle.' She says before the massage she's an uncooked noodle but after the massage, she's a cooked noodle! It is not necessary for my elderly clients to get undressed & get on the table but Ms Pats' caregiver, Ava, wants her to because otherwise she will just want to lay in the bed all day. My Mom went home to Jesus December 22, 2008. When she was ill, I would massage her feet. She would  express how good it felt. I would like to offer that for others' who are hurting.

Auto Accident/ Pain therapy: I use neuromuscular, deep tissue, trigger point pressure, sports & relaxation for those who suffer from accident related pain. Some insurances will cover all or part of your expenses for massage IF they are medically necessary prescribed by a Doctor. I will need to have you approved by your insurance company before I can start treatment.

Fibromyalgia: Regular massage therapy helps relieve pain by increasing circulation, getting toxins eliminated, & increasing lymphatic drainage. I recommend once a week but your Doctor is the one that has to prescribe therapeutic massage for you.
